The OECD has come very close to predicting a depression for Europe unless EU leaders conjure up a lender-of-last resort very quickly, and somehow manage to make the world believe that the EFSF bail-out fund really exists.
Even if disaster is avoided, the eurozone growth forecast is dreadful. Italy, Portugal, Greece will all contract through 2012, while Spain, France, Netherlands, and Germany will bounce along the bottom.
Unemployment will reach 18.5pc in Greece, 22.9pc in Spain, 14.1pc in Ireland, 13.8pc in Portugal.
Yet Iceland stands out, with 2.4pc growth and unemployment tumbling to 6.1. Well, well.
Here is the box from the OECD.

Iceland's policy of drastic devaluation with capital controls has not proved to be the disaster that so many foretold. Its refusal to accept the full burden of private bank losses has not turned the country into leper-land.
The nation has held its social fabric together. Had Iceland been in the eurozone, it would have been forced to pursue the same reactionary polices of "internal devaluation" and debt deflation being inflicted today on the mass ranks of unemployed across the arc of depression.

CONSIDERAZIONI E RIFLESSIONI SUGLI SCONTRI DI ROMA DEL 15 OTTOBRE

Innanzi tutto credo sia d’obbligo fare un grosso distinguo tra la stragrande maggioranza dei partecipanti a quella manifestazione che doveva essere, nelle loro intenzioni, pacifica. Quella eterogenea massa di gente costituita da attivisti e simpatizzanti di partito, da persone realmente e sinceramente preoccupati del loro futuro, da colorati e gioiosi festaioli erano un’innocua amalgama, un inconsapevole contenitore. Al loro interno si occultavano, con maestria da trasformisti, alcune centinaia di estremisti, quelli che con una definizione troppo generalistica vengono definiti “Gli incappucciati o black bloc”. Ovviamente tra la festante maggioranza dei partecipanti al corteo e i guerriglieri non vi era connivenza, attenzione ho detto “maggioranza”, perché credo non si possa escludere a priori che oltre alla forza d’urto costituita dai ragazzi in felpa nera vi fossero, tra i pacifici partecipanti, anche altri individui che nonostante abbiano mantenuto fino alla fine la loro posizione di anonimato hanno fatto da osservatori al servizio dei “combattenti”. Come avrete capito io contesto assolutamente la teoria che vuole i ragazzi violenti come degli individualisti privi di un’organizzazione e di una regia, mi rifiuto di credere che essi agissero spontaneamente senza aver nulla programmato e senza aver studiato un piano ben programmato. Chiunque si intenda un poco di strategia militare si sarà reso conto che quei ragazzi hanno applicato un piano tattico ineccepibile, la cui realizzazione prevede una programmazione, uno studio del territorio delle operazioni e di una direzione accurata e gerarchicamente strutturata.

Gli incappucciati ad un certo punto del percorso del corteo, o meglio in alcuni determinati punti, si sono rivelati ed hanno fronteggiato le forze dell’ordine, già in allerta in quanto prevedevano possibili scontri, le forze dell’ordine sono confluite per fermare e disperdere i violenti. Queste forze di scontro hanno manifestato l’intenzione di voler ingaggiare battaglia, poi quando sono stati sicuri che il grosso di Carabinieri, Polizia e Guardia di Finanza era accorso per costituire un muro invalicabile si sono rapidamente dispersi in molteplici direzioni, raggiungendo i loro reali obbiettivi lasciati sguarniti e senza difesa, una manovra diversiva di tutto rispetto che prevede una strategia ben studiata e una regia sul campo oltre ad una capacità di coordinamento eccellenti. Si ricordi che molti di questi ragazzi non sono di Roma e muoversi con sicurezza attraverso una città dalla viabilità difficile come la Capitale non è cosa da poco. Roma è una città difficile, dove gli stessi romani, a volte si orientano a fatica, e dove anche i navigatori satellitari bestemmiano. Spostare con precisione alcune centinaia, dicono cinquecento, ragazzi collocandoli con precisione, dopo averli divisi in gruppi più piccoli, sugli obbiettivi da colpire non è affatto semplice. Una simile tattica prevede un accurato studio del territorio ed un’ispezione dei luoghi, oltre, ovviamente, a dei quadri di comando distribuiti sul campo ma anche al di fuori del teatro delle operazioni, sicuramente vi erano molti osservatori che avvisavano i rivoltosi degli spostamenti e delle contromisure che venivano messe in atto dalle forze dell’ordine. L’idea che mi sono fatto studiando i video e le piantine delle zone interessate è che gli incappucciati hanno gestito in maniera militare le operazioni e sono stati di gran lunga più efficienti di chi li fronteggiava.

Inutile farsi illusioni, a mio avviso stiamo assistendo alla rinascita di un movimento di estrema sinistra, che nulla ha che vedere con la sinistra attuale che tutto è fuorchè sinistra comunista. Solo chi come me ha vissuto gli anni di piombo e ancor prima i movimenti studenteschi del ‘68 e seguenti, facendone poi motivo di studio ed approfondimento, cercando di andare alle radici del terrorismo rosso può, forse, rendersi conto che si sta sottovalutando i fatti del 15 ottobre.

Non dobbiamo dimenticare che l’Italia ha avuto il più forte partito comunista dell’Europa occidentale, che tale partito, il PCI, sosteneva e finanziava le sue frange più estremiste, questo almeno fino all’avvento del cosiddetto compromesso storico di berlinguerliana memoria, e che solo dopo il rapimento dell’onorevole Moro il PCI si dissociò in modo chiaro ed univoco dalla lotta armata, di cui fino ad allora aveva teorizzato l’avvento. L’aperta condanna delle brigate rosse e dei loro metodi avvenne dunque solo sul finire degli anni ‘70. Le stesse brigate rosse avevano natali che si possono far comodamente risalire, senza soluzione di continuità alle brigate partigiane dei GAP (gruppi armati partigiani) inquadrati nel CLN (Comitato di liberazione nazionale). Solo in Italia vi è stato un movimento terroristico di matrice comunista così ben organizzato, e finanziato, in tutto il resto dell’Europa è stata ben poca cosa al confronto. In Francia Action Direct, in Germania la RAF (frazione armata rossa) sono stati movimenti poco incisivi e facilmente debellati dallo stato.

Temiamo che la crisi economica globalizzata che ha investito i mercati occidentali, unitamente ad una economia le cui leggi si sono, con il tempo, estremizzate, passando da una economia di mercato ad un’economia d’elite in cui pochi, enormi gruppi di potere fanno il mercato e impongono la loro volontà e le loro regole, abbia, o stia, generando una nuova generazione di contestatori violenti. Forse non conosceranno Marx, non avranno letto il Capitale o Il Manifesto del partito comunista, ma si sentono respinti verso il proletariato o addirittura il sottoproletariato. Forse non hanno ancora la copertura ideologica e vanno a far guerriglia ai cortei come andrebbero a farla allo stadio, ma certamente troveranno sul loro cammino, ammesso che non sia già successo, uno o più personaggi che strumentalizzeranno la loro rabbia e ne faranno un mezzo di pressione per ottenere potere.

Facciamo attenzione, fatti come quelli di Roma non sono mai fini a se stessi, ma sono il frutto di un malessere che serpeggia pericolosamente e che potrebbe addensarsi in movimenti di portata sociale. Bisogna che si rivedano, in modo serio e non con operazioni di facciata, i criteri di distribuzione della ricchezza: oggi troppi strati della popolazione, per altro sempre più cospicui, sono tagliati fuori dal benessere e sospinti verso la povertà. L’indigenza già oggi coinvolge e attanaglia ben otto milioni d’italiani.

Consiglio a tutti di leggersi 'sto fanatico dei Black Block che hanno messo a ferro e a fuoco Roma senza davvero chiedersi perché: questi scatenano la loro frustrazione con tattiche paramilitari, ma quando si parla delle ragioni non sanno neanche che dire e si nascondono dietro slogan idioti ("non discuto di politica con i giornalisti" dopo aver raccontato con orgoglio le tattiche che a lui avrebbe fatto comodo tenere riservate).
Questi -non i celerini- sono quelli che hanno picchiato i dimostranti veri che tentavano di fermarli.
'sti Black Block paiono le Camice Nere del nascente Partito Nazionale Fascista.
E tra l'altro offrono un alibi meraviglioso a quelli che dicono di voler combattere.
Da un lato Berlusconi ed i suoi lacchè pronti a tutto per portare a casa il possibile. Dall'altro questi.

Che tristezza!

Uno dopo l'altro i grossi nomi della RAI di servizio pubblico se ne vanno, cacciati da un management sempre più al servizio del privato che alla RAI fa concorrenza.
Il TG1, principale telegiornale del Paese, surclassato dal TG5 di Berlusconi: qualunque cosa pur di non farsi prendere in giro da Minzolini.

I programmi di approfondimento che facevano audience, tagliati. Restano quelli al guinzaglio, che nessuno considera credibili e sempre meno gente guarda: Vespa, Ferrara...

Tanto di guadagnato comunque per il padrone: se la RAI perde audience, la pubblicità si sposta su Mediaset. Ed infatti è quello che sta succedendo.

D'altronde, anche affondare la RAI in favore della TV privata faceva parte del Piano di Rinascita Democratica di Licio Gelli, di cui Berlusconi era un seguace.

Guarda se ora finiscono anche per ritentare il golpe dopo aver causato l'esasperazione della gente, tra cui molti forse addirittura applaudirebbero.

Quello che è certo è che se un golpe ci fosse, il TG1 non ne parlerebbe prima di aver ottenuto il permesso dal padrone... e probabilmente anche il testo del servizio!

ASK people how they feel about getting older, and they will probably reply in the same vein as Maurice Chevalier: “Old age isn’t so bad when you consider the alternative.” Stiffening joints, weakening muscles, fading eyesight and the clouding of memory, coupled with the modern world’s careless contempt for the old, seem a fearful prospect—better than death, perhaps, but not much. Yet mankind is wrong to dread ageing. Life is not a long slow decline from sunlit uplands towards the valley of death. It is, rather, a U-bend.

When people start out on adult life, they are, on average, pretty cheerful. Things go downhill from youth to middle age until they reach a nadir commonly known as the mid-life crisis. So far, so familiar. The surprising part happens after that. Although as people move towards old age they lose things they treasure—vitality, mental sharpness and looks—they also gain what people spend their lives pursuing: happiness.

This curious finding has emerged from a new branch of economics that seeks a more satisfactory measure than money of human well-being. Conventional economics uses money as a proxy for utility—the dismal way in which the discipline talks about happiness. But some economists, unconvinced that there is a direct relationship between money and well-being, have decided to go to the nub of the matter and measure happiness itself.

These ideas have penetrated the policy arena, starting in Bhutan, where the concept of Gross National Happiness shapes the planning process. All new policies have to have a GNH assessment, similar to the environmental-impact assessment common in other countries. In 2008 France’s president, Nicolas Sarkozy, asked two Nobel-prize-winning economists, Amartya Sen and Joseph Stiglitz, to come up with a broader measure of national contentedness than GDP. Then last month, in a touchy-feely gesture not typical of Britain, David Cameron announced that the British government would start collecting figures on well-being.

There are already a lot of data on the subject collected by, for instance, America’s General Social Survey, Eurobarometer and Gallup. Surveys ask two main sorts of question. One concerns people’s assessment of their lives, and the other how they feel at any particular time. The first goes along the lines of: thinking about your life as a whole, how do you feel? The second is something like: yesterday, did you feel happy/contented/angry/anxious? The first sort of question is said to measure global well-being, and the second hedonic or emotional well-being. They do not always elicit the same response: having children, for instance, tends to make people feel better about their life as a whole, but also increases the chance that they felt angry or anxious yesterday.

Statisticians trawl through the vast quantities of data these surveys produce rather as miners panning for gold. They are trying to find the answer to the perennial question: what makes people happy?

Four main factors, it seems: gender, personality, external circumstances and age. Women, by and large, are slightly happier than men. But they are also more susceptible to depression: a fifth to a quarter of women experience depression at some point in their lives, compared with around a tenth of men. Which suggests either that women are more likely to experience more extreme emotions, or that a few women are more miserable than men, while most are more cheerful.

Two personality traits shine through the complexity of economists’ regression analyses: neuroticism and extroversion. Neurotic people—those who are prone to guilt, anger and anxiety—tend to be unhappy. This is more than a tautological observation about people’s mood when asked about their feelings by pollsters or economists. Studies following people over many years have shown that neuroticism is a stable personality trait and a good predictor of levels of happiness. Neurotic people are not just prone to negative feelings: they also tend to have low emotional intelligence, which makes them bad at forming or managing relationships, and that in turn makes them unhappy.

Whereas neuroticism tends to make for gloomy types, extroversion does the opposite. Those who like working in teams and who relish parties tend to be happier than those who shut their office doors in the daytime and hole up at home in the evenings. This personality trait may help explain some cross-cultural differences: a study comparing similar groups of British, Chinese and Japanese people found that the British were, on average, both more extrovert and happier than the Chinese and Japanese.

Then there is the role of circumstance. All sorts of things in people’s lives, such as relationships, education, income and health, shape the way they feel. Being married gives people a considerable uplift, but not as big as the gloom that springs from being unemployed. In America, being black used to be associated with lower levels of happiness—though the most recent figures suggest that being black or Hispanic is nowadays associated with greater happiness. People with children in the house are less happy than those without. More educated people are happier, but that effect disappears once income is controlled for. Education, in other words, seems to make people happy because it makes them richer. And richer people are happier than poor ones—though just how much is a source of argument (see article).

The view from winter

Lastly, there is age. Ask a bunch of 30-year-olds and another of 70-year-olds (as Peter Ubel, of the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, did with two colleagues, Heather Lacey and Dylan Smith, in 2006) which group they think is likely to be happier, and both lots point to the 30-year-olds. Ask them to rate their own well-being, and the 70-year-olds are the happier bunch. The academics quoted lyrics written by Pete Townshend of The Who when he was 20: “Things they do look awful cold / Hope I die before I get old”. They pointed out that Mr Townshend, having passed his 60th birthday, was writing a blog that glowed with good humour.

Mr Townshend may have thought of himself as a youthful radical, but this view is ancient and conventional. The “seven ages of man”—the dominant image of the life-course in the 16th and 17th centuries—was almost invariably conceived as a rise in stature and contentedness to middle age, followed by a sharp decline towards the grave. Inverting the rise and fall is a recent idea. “A few of us noticed the U-bend in the early 1990s,” says Andrew Oswald, professor of economics at Warwick Business School. “We ran a conference about it, but nobody came.”
People are least happy in their 40s and early 50s. They reach a nadir at a global average of 46

Since then, interest in the U-bend has been growing. Its effect on happiness is significant—about half as much, from the nadir of middle age to the elderly peak, as that of unemployment. It appears all over the world. David Blanchflower, professor of economics at Dartmouth College, and Mr Oswald looked at the figures for 72 countries. The nadir varies among countries—Ukrainians, at the top of the range, are at their most miserable at 62, and Swiss, at the bottom, at 35—but in the great majority of countries people are at their unhappiest in their 40s and early 50s. The global average is 46.

The U-bend shows up in studies not just of global well-being but also of hedonic or emotional well-being. One paper, published this year by Arthur Stone, Joseph Schwartz and Joan Broderick of Stony Brook University, and Angus Deaton of Princeton, breaks well-being down into positive and negative feelings and looks at how the experience of those emotions varies through life. Enjoyment and happiness dip in middle age, then pick up; stress rises during the early 20s, then falls sharply; worry peaks in middle age, and falls sharply thereafter; anger declines throughout life; sadness rises slightly in middle age, and falls thereafter.

Turn the question upside down, and the pattern still appears. When the British Labour Force Survey asks people whether they are depressed, the U-bend becomes an arc, peaking at 46.

Happier, no matter what

There is always a possibility that variations are the result not of changes during the life-course, but of differences between cohorts. A 70-year-old European may feel different to a 30-year-old not because he is older, but because he grew up during the second world war and was thus formed by different experiences. But the accumulation of data undermines the idea of a cohort effect. Americans and Zimbabweans have not been formed by similar experiences, yet the U-bend appears in both their countries. And if a cohort effect were responsible, the U-bend would not show up consistently in 40 years’ worth of data.

Another possible explanation is that unhappy people die early. It is hard to establish whether that is true or not; but, given that death in middle age is fairly rare, it would explain only a little of the phenomenon. Perhaps the U-bend is merely an expression of the effect of external circumstances. After all, common factors affect people at different stages of the life-cycle. People in their 40s, for instance, often have teenage children. Could the misery of the middle-aged be the consequence of sharing space with angry adolescents? And older people tend to be richer. Could their relative contentment be the result of their piles of cash?

The answer, it turns out, is no: control for cash, employment status and children, and the U-bend is still there. So the growing happiness that follows middle-aged misery must be the result not of external circumstances but of internal changes.

People, studies show, behave differently at different ages. Older people have fewer rows and come up with better solutions to conflict. They are better at controlling their emotions, better at accepting misfortune and less prone to anger. In one study, for instance, subjects were asked to listen to recordings of people supposedly saying disparaging things about them. Older and younger people were similarly saddened, but older people less angry and less inclined to pass judgment, taking the view, as one put it, that “you can’t please all the people all the time.”

There are various theories as to why this might be so. Laura Carstensen, professor of psychology at Stanford University, talks of “the uniquely human ability to recognise our own mortality and monitor our own time horizons”. Because the old know they are closer to death, she argues, they grow better at living for the present. They come to focus on things that matter now—such as feelings—and less on long-term goals. “When young people look at older people, they think how terrifying it must be to be nearing the end of your life. But older people know what matters most.” For instance, she says, “young people will go to cocktail parties because they might meet somebody who will be useful to them in the future, even though nobody I know actually likes going to cocktail parties.”

Death of ambition, birth of acceptance

There are other possible explanations. Maybe the sight of contemporaries keeling over infuses survivors with a determination to make the most of their remaining years. Maybe people come to accept their strengths and weaknesses, give up hoping to become chief executive or have a picture shown in the Royal Academy, and learn to be satisfied as assistant branch manager, with their watercolour on display at the church fete. “Being an old maid”, says one of the characters in a story by Edna Ferber, an (unmarried) American novelist, was “like death by drowning—a really delightful sensation when you ceased struggling.” Perhaps acceptance of ageing itself is a source of relief. “How pleasant is the day”, observed William James, an American philosopher, “when we give up striving to be young—or slender.”

Whatever the causes of the U-bend, it has consequences beyond the emotional. Happiness doesn’t just make people happy—it also makes them healthier. John Weinman, professor of psychiatry at King’s College London, monitored the stress levels of a group of volunteers and then inflicted small wounds on them. The wounds of the least stressed healed twice as fast as those of the most stressed. At Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Sheldon Cohen infected people with cold and flu viruses. He found that happier types were less likely to catch the virus, and showed fewer symptoms of illness when they did. So although old people tend to be less healthy than younger ones, their cheerfulness may help counteract their crumbliness.

Happier people are more productive, too. Mr Oswald and two colleagues, Eugenio Proto and Daniel Sgroi, cheered up a bunch of volunteers by showing them a funny film, then set them mental tests and compared their performance to groups that had seen a neutral film, or no film at all. The ones who had seen the funny film performed 12% better. This leads to two conclusions. First, if you are going to volunteer for a study, choose the economists’ experiment rather than the psychologists’ or psychiatrists’. Second, the cheerfulness of the old should help counteract their loss of productivity through declining cognitive skills—a point worth remembering as the world works out how to deal with an ageing workforce.

The ageing of the rich world is normally seen as a burden on the economy and a problem to be solved. The U-bend argues for a more positive view of the matter. The greyer the world gets, the brighter it becomes—a prospect which should be especially encouraging to Economist readers (average age 47).

Ancora non basta?

Quando finalmente sembrava che ce la facessimo a chiudere con la fase del cambiamento in ufficio ed a cominciare ad applicare il nuovo metodo di lavoro, hanno deciso per il famoso merger, la fusione tra dipartimenti che sembrava fosse stata definitivamente archiviata.
Invece rieccoci qui, a ricominciare di nuovo da zero, in attesa di iniziare a sapere i primi dettagli di come verremo ristrutturati e con la prospettiva di essere di nuovo nell'insicurezza, a rischio, di dover nuovamente cambiare metodo di lavoro, struttura, colleghi, responsabilità...
Ne ho le palle piene. Che gran rottura di coglioni!
Razionalmente vorrebbe dire ripartire per un altro anno di stand-by, ma dopo gli scorsi due anni finiremmo per chiudere bottega e punto.
Mi torna in mente l'ufficio comunicazione, chiuso dopo anni senza direttore, solo per poter licenziare impunemente lo staff usurato da anni di incertezze di cui non avevano colpe, e subito riaperto con nuova gente.
Intravedo un futuro nero.

Su La Repubblica di ieri leggevo l'analisi dell'orientamento politico dopo le recenti batoste elettorali subite dal governo.
Berlusconi a picco, Tremonti (oggi avversario di Berlusconi) il più credibile, il PD primo partito superando il PdL, i movimenti più radicali (IdV e 5 stelle) in crescita, il terzo polo già archiviato nelle sue diverse componenti...

"Prevedibile, finalmente" ho pensato io.

Ed invece in più occasioni sulla stampa torna il commento secondo cui sarebbe stato impossibile prevederlo,a causa innanzitutto del ritorno alla politica di categorie in genere meno impegnate (donne, giovani, studenti...); poi per lo scontento degli elettori dei partiti di governo ed il loro rifiuto di seguirne gli orientamenti referendari ("andate al mare"), infine per l'inatteso (secondo loro) impegno elettorale e soprattutto referendario spontaneo espresso non solo (o non tanto) nei modi tradizionali dei banchetti in strada, quanto piuttosto nel dibattito quotidiano tra familiari ed amici e soprattutto via i vari social media.

Ed allora mi sono chiesto: "Come imprevedibile???"

Lo scontento era ovvio ed atteso. Il dibattito generalizzato tra amici e parenti lo era altrettanto (con gli Italiani, anche vivendo all'estero, il discorso finiva sempre lì). Sui social media bastava esserci per rendersi conto delle migliaia di iniziative, o anche solo della forte partecipazione ai dibattiti online...

Evidentemente in ambiente giornalistico erano concentrati a cercare di analizzare la situazione facendo riferimento ai soliti contatti nelle segreterie di partito. Un mondo a parte oramai da anni. Una torre d'avorio con pochi contatti con la realtà, nella quale sin troppo stampa finisce per adattarsi comodamente continuando a guardare dentro, anziché fuori dalle finestre.

Il calo delle vendite dei giornali non è solo dovuta, a mio parere, "alla concorrenza di internet" come ripetono da anni i giornalisti stessi. È dovuta soprattutto all'incapacità di troppa stampa di tornare a scendere in strada e parlare con la gente, anziché con il potere.

I risultati erano prevedibili. Il crollo del PdL era nell'aria. La scarsa presa dei soliti aspiranti democristiani del terzo polo anche, così come lo era la delusione di chi aveva sperato per la rivolta dei finiani e lo scontento della base leghista per l'impresentabile alleato, i pochi risultati locali e la realpolitik della Lega partito di governo.

Anche la vittoria elettorale della sinistra era abbastanza ovvia, dopo che gli elettori di sinistra avevano scalzato gli apparatchik del PD alle primarie ed avevano imposto candidati outsider, più puliti e non legati a doppio filo alle correnti dei vecchi baroni.
Insomma, piuttosto che votare un uomo di D'Alema resto a casa, ma per votare un vero candidato di sinistra ci vado eccome al seggio!!!

L'unica novità potrebbe essere il nuovo successo nei sondaggi del PD, in parte dovute all'effetto trascinamento dopo le vittorie elettorali (che non sono state del PD, ma dei candidati alternativi), ma anche in grande parte alla capacità di Bersani ed altri (Fassino) di ascoltare l'elettorato, allineandosi agli outsider che li avevano sconfitti alle primarie, accettando e facendo proprie le critiche ed addirittura gli sfottò (Bersani che imita Crozza che imita Bersani è impagabile!!!). Insomma, abbandonando i dalemiani atteggiamenti da centralismo democratico e tornando a farsi interpreti dei propri elettori, ma anche sostenendo (e condividendone il sostegno elettorale) gli outsider eletti, che proprio dall'elettorato provengono.

Infine i referendum: le questioni erano reali ed importanti.
Sul nucleare la gente era convinta anche prima di Fukushima, ma più ancora l'acqua è sentita come un bene pubblico intoccabile, un diritto primario.
L'arroganza, l'avidità e l'inefficienza con cui sono stati gestiti dai privati della cricca (e della P3, P4, etc.) tutti gli interventi nel pubblico degli ultimi anni, non potevano non convincere anche molti elettori liberali dell'inopportunità di privatizzare la gestione dell'acqua. La raccolta delle firme per i relativi referendum era stata organizzata da comitati quasi spontanei ed aveva avuto un successo enorme ed inequivocabile.

Per non parlare di quello su Berlusconi (pardon: sul 'legittimo' impedimento a farsi processare) per il quale la gente, stufa di sentir parlare di Berlusconi, forse a votare non ci sarebbe neanche andata, ma trascinato dagli altri era ovviamente destinato al successo.

Imporre una data referendaria separata dalle amministrative, aggiungendo costi e seccature per tentare di affossare i referendum, è stata la goccia che ha fatto traboccare il vaso. L'ennesimo schiaffo dei potenti all'elettorato che dovrebbero rappresentare.

Era davvero così imprevedibile che l'elettorato fosse stufo di prendere schiaffi?

In Grecia, come in Spagna, i socialisti al governo pagano il prezzo di una crisi le cui cause sono state ereditate dai governi precedenti.

Forse l'errore è cedere a imposizioni internazionali per l'applicazione di misure di rigore finanziario che, se potrebbero essere capite e forse addirittura apprezzate da un elettorato di centrodestra, sono inaccettabili per l'elettorato di riferimento dei socialisti.

"Meglio finire in bancarotta e poveri, che continuare a cedere alle imposizioni dell'UE" diceva oggi un manifestante greco.

Difficile dargli torto, visto che evitare la bancarotta serve soprattutto a difendere l'euro ed il tenore di vita dei Paesi più ricchi dell'eurozona.

Guardavo un reportage sulla microcriminalità agli Champs Elisées.
Ragazzini magari irregolari e senza documenti, bloccati dopo uno scippo e rimessi in libertà perché minorenni.
E da uomo di sinistra mi ribello!

Non è soltanto la frustrazione di vedere criminali in giro per le strade: è la rabbia di vedere questi ragazzini abbandonati ad un futuro da delinquenti in nome dei bei sentimenti.

Da uomo di sinistra credo nell'educazione.
E non trovo educativo che dei ragazzini ed i loro mandanti possano contare sulla non perseguibilità di crimini minori in nome della loro giovane età.
Andrebbero non solo identificati (altro che rilasciarli dopo avergli chiesto come si chiamano), ma portati in questura o centri di detenzione minorile (mica lager!) dove possano uscire solo accompagnati dai genitori e dove genitori e figli si becchino una sonora lavata di capo, in presenza gli uni degli altri.

E condannati a lavori utili, per imparare che il crimine non paga, ma anche che un lavoro ben fatto dà più soddisfazione di un furtarello eseguito senza farsi beccare.

Rilasciarli perché minori, a mio parere, è deresponsabilizzarsene. È la soluzione irresponsabile indegna della sinistra in cui credo e che vorrei.

Non vanno sbattuti in galera tra i cattivi veri: vanno educati perché non lo diventino anche loro.

Ho spesso citato il paradosso di Karl Popper sulla tolleranza: "se non siamo disposti a difendere una società tollerante contro l’attacco degli intolleranti, allora i tolleranti saranno distrutti, e la tolleranza con essi. Per questo – avverte Popper – noi dovremmo proclamare, in nome della tolleranza, il diritto di non tollerare gli intolleranti".

Stamattina ho compreso l'intolleranza nei confronti -ad esempio- del burka, del velo islamico o di simili espressioni cultural/ideologico/religiose.

Ho visto in strada una donna, vestita da 'suora laica' con sandali aperti alla francescana, abiti di un colore blu neutro atti a nascondere eventuali forme, pettinatura intenzionalmente non piacente sebbene ordinata... ed il crocifisso al collo.

Non faceva nulla di male, non stava facendo proselitismo, ma tutto nel suo aspetto e nel suo atteggiamento era una esplicita e netta presa di posizione.

Una presa di posizione che mi ha infastidito per come veniva sbandierata in strada.

Il principio della democrazia partecipativa dello scorso secolo, implicava che ci si riconoscesse tutti nello stesso stato/nazione/comunità all'interno del quale si decideva in base all'opinione dominante espressa nelle votazioni (elettorali, referendarie...) ma nel rispetto delle opinioni minoritarie.

Si faceva però tutti parte della stessa 'chiesa': quella della democrazia e del proprio Paese.

Lo sbandierare un'identità altra, diversa e che apertamente rifiuta alcuni dei principi fondanti di quella comune (a partire dall'equivalenza di posizioni ideologicamente diverse, quali l'appartenenza ad una od ad altra religione o la non appartenenza ad alcuna) è un atto dialetticamente aggressivo nei confronti dell'identità comune. È un atto di intolleranza nei confronti di chi non ha le tue stesse convinzioni e nei confronti del principio stesso di equivalenza delle diverse convinzioni.
L'enfasi viene posta sull'alterità, sulle differenze, anziché sugli elementi in comune. Su ciò che si rifiuta negli altri, anziché su ciò che con gli altri viene condiviso.

Mi ha dato fastidio l'estetica di una suora laica, ma avrebbe potuto essere l'atteggiamento estremo di alcuni ecologisti (con i quali sono principalmente d'accordo), il gagliardetto di un partito esposto in un'occasione mondana, o persino il gagliardetto di una squadra di calcio appiccicato sulla macchina.

Sia chiaro: lungi da me l'idea di voler proibire simili espressioni, ma il fastidio che ho provato mi ha fatto capire l'avversione diffusa nei confronti di determinate espressioni di alterità rispetto all'identità comune o di accoglienza.

Diciamo che il velo islamico o abiti tribali africani o andini, himalaiani, o il kilt scozzese, i lederhose bavaresi... non mi danno alcun fastidio (al contrario mi interessano ed incuriosiscono) sinché considero chi li indossa un turista, o qualcuno di passaggio. Li trovo sgradevoli nei residenti. Li trovo un'espressione di rifiuto nei confronti di chi condivide con te gli stessi spazi, le stesse istituzioni...

Un rifiuto di cui non c'è alcun bisogno e che offre il fianco a chi reagisce invitandoti -se non ti piace il posto e la sua cultura- ad andartene.

La chiesa nega l'assoluzione ad una donna nubile in procinto di sposare un divorziato.
Ovviamente la donna non si chiama Berlusconi.

La chiesa fa sempre più schifo, ma stavolta la difendo: magari fossero sempre così coerenti!
Così la gente sarebbe costretta a scegliere se continuare a dare potere ed influenza alla chiesa, ma comportandosi di conseguenza con rinunce, astinenza, generosità, moralità…
… oppure vivere una vita normale con le proprie debolezze, ma senza più l’ipocrita coperta della religione, sempre a disposizione per coprire qualsiasi sconcezza.

Nella chiesa si riconoscerebbe una sparuta minoranza di Italiani, che a quel punto meriterebbe il rispetto che oggi meritano, ad esempio, i Valdesi che non tentano neanche di imporre ad altri il loro credo fantasioso ed i loro precetti irrazionali.

E il papa al telegiornale apparirebbe solo se fa notizia. In genere le boiate che dice i suoi fedeli dovrebbero andarsele a cercare in loco.
Voglio vedere quanti resterebbero cattolici!

I Calvinisti dicono che dio sceglie lui chi salvare. La salvezza dipende dalla predestinazione decisa da dio.
Non ho capito dove interviene, dunque, l'utilità dei comportamenti virtuosi e moralisti promossi dal calvinismo e dalle sue declinazioni regionali (chiesa presbiteriana scozzese, per esempio).

I Luterani dicono qualcosa di simile: dio accorda la salvezza indipendentemente dal merito, in virtù della sua grazia sovrana. L'unica maniera in cui si può "rispondere all'iniziativa salvifica di dio" è credere in lui. Quello che non capisco è: se dio -infallibile e inarrivabile- decide ad capocchiam, pensare di influenzarne le scelte con le proprie convinzioni ("salvation by faith alone") non è peccare d'arroganza?

I Cattolici pensano che devi meritarti la salvezza con le opere, avvicinarti a dio attraverso l'intercessione dei suoi sacerdoti (con sacramenti e compagnia bella), e che comunque dio onnipotente può decidere di riprenderti per i capelli in punto di morte se lì per lì credi in lui (insomma una sorta di luteranesimo last-minute).

Insomma... va a finire che le boiate dei cattolici hanno quasi più senso di quelle sparate da chi voleva contestarne l'incoerenza e l'immoralità dei vertici della chiesa.

Poi (o prima) ci sono gli ortodossi, che non riconoscono il bisogno di un Papa centrale rappresentane di san pietro -perché per loro il capo è gesù che non avrebbe delegato una beneamata minchia a pietro e anziché un papa unico vogliono tanti primati (nomen omen) regionali che proseguano il lavoro di evangelisti/apostoli etc. In più spaccano il capello in quattro (o inculano le mosche, come dicono i francesi) su questioni mooooolto specifiche, tipo la trinità, per cui per gli uni (quali?) gesù e dio sono ambedue il padre dello spirito santo, per altri i tre sono la stesa roba, per altri ancora i secondi due vengono dal primo, e poi ci sarebbe una disputa su se i tre abbiano uguale sostanza ma diversa essenza (o qualcosa del genere comunque profondamente privo di senso logico, per confondere e intimidire chi si ponga domande con quelli che Manzoni definì semplicemente e popolarmente "latinorum").

E questo per tenersi ai cristiani soltanto.

Poi gli ebrei che credono nelle stesse robe dei cristiani, ma non che cristo fosse il Messia inviato da dio, che deve ancora arrivare (e che pensano -un po' calvinisticamente- che dio ha scelto di salvare proprio loro, ma nel frattempo -e qui un po' luteranamente- li tratta peggio degli altri per metterne la fede alla prova)... i musulmani che credono anche loro nella Bibbia, ma pensano che Gesù era un profeta tra gli altri, impegnato ad annunciare l'arrivo del Profeta con la 'P' maiuscola (più o meno il Messia), Maometto (almeno se ho capito bene)...

E non mi addentro in induismo, taoismo, buddismo, scintoismo...

Well,
I had to turn 40 somewhere.

Wifey decided it had to be the big Apple.
She kidnapped me into a plane and ... let's go!

We stayed at friends. Very good friends we had not seen since we invaded their grandpas home last summer.

New York is BIG! In five days we could only manage to walk (a lot!) around Manhattan and do some tourist stuff. Climb (cue?) the Empire state building, sail around the island, see the Statue of Liberty...

Plus, of course, some time with friends and a Broadway Musical, Wicked, and an off-Broadway performance show, Fuerza Bruta.

The first impression is exactly what I expected: I knew it all. Nothing was new to me. I have seen, heard, read so much about it, that the first time in New York is like coming back to it.

The skyscrapers are more impressive in TV than under them.

The only thing I was surprised to discover is a city much calmer than I expected. Frenetic if you live in it (judging from the stress I could read on my friends' faces), but rather calm and not as aggressive as I expected, if you are not working.
If you are smart enough to avoid taking the car, you don't even have the impression of having too much traffic.

Leggo la recensione di un libro che apre gli occhi, smantellando il mito di internet onnipotente strumento di liberazione.
Lo ha scritto un bielorusso, quindi uno che di regimi travestiti da democrazie ne capisce qualcosa.

Resto convinto che la libertà di internet vada difesa, ma difendo anche la libertà di stampa, ben sapendo che per disinnescarne gli effetti basta piazzare un Minzolini o un Fede (anche loro schierati a difesa della propria libertà editoriale!) o anche semplicemente riempire le cronache di quelle che sono state definite Armi di Distrazione di Massa: scandali da due soldi, tanto sport, le storielle personali -vere o più spesso costruite a tavolino- di personaggi famosi solo per il fatto di essere famosi (in spagnolo è una categoria: "los famosos"), qualche tetta, un culo...

Per come la vedo io è la popolazione dei Paesi democratici ad aver perso smalto.
La maggioranza della gente dà la democrazia per scontata, così come il benessere, e non ha alcun interesse ad impegnarsi per difenderla, costruirla, mantenerla, evolverla...

In fondo anche in piena crisi, da noi non muore di fame nessuno. Nessuno è buttato in strada. Siamo talmente ricchi che la povertà da noi non esiste più: esiste solo la percezione di povertà, quando non ci si può permettere lo stesso lusso del vicino o che ci si poteva offrire l'anno scorso.

Quanto agli abitanti di Paesi dove invece la fame c'è davvero, se hanno il buon gusto di ammazzarsi tra di loro o crepare di fame con discrezione, non suscitano più alcuna empatia, alcun interesse.
Ma se osano rimboccarsi le maniche e minacciano di arricchirsi anche loro, allora sì che da noi si levano voci oltraggiate e sdegnate!
Basta vedere le reazioni alla crescita della Cina (che non impoverisce noi), contestata quasi mai per il regime antidemocratico, lo schiavismo (che ci permette di pagarli meno), la negazione dei diritti umani... ma sempre e fortemente perché ci fanno concorrenza ('sleale': come osano offrire prezzi più bassi dei nostri?), copiano senza pagare royalties, importano -quando possono- di contrabbando senza pagare protezionistici balzelli d'ingresso, mentre chiediamo alla Cina di aprire i suoi mercati alle nostre merci.
Insomma ci offende e preoccupa che la Cina rifiuti di lasciarsi colonizzare come i Paesi del terzo mondo comprati per due soldi (pubblici) da FMI e Banca Mondiale e donati alle grandi multinazionali -principalmente americane quando si tratta di farsi aprire la strada dalle truppe di Washington, ma 'internazionali' quando si dovrebbe altrimenti applicare le leggi di un Paese sviluppato.

Ho divagato. Ma intendevo sottolineare che internet, come la stampa, come i mezzi di comunicazione di massa in generale, sono solo strumenti, ma che a dover fare delle scelte, portarle avanti e difenderle possono solo essere le popolazioni che questi strumenti hanno accesso.

Insomma è inutile comprarsi una penna sempre più lussuosa e potente, se non si ha voglia di imparare a scrivere o di osare farlo.

È uno status symbol; come una stampa libera di raccontarci scandali ai quali non abbiamo alcuna voglia di reagire.

Internet libero non basta: ci vuole un popolo coinvolto e deciso per liberarsi dei dittatori da due soldi del nord Africa.

iPhone 4

Company gave me a choice: either a Blackberry or an iPhone 4.
I couldn't just keep a normal telephone, whose main task would be making and receiving telephone calls, but I had to pass to a 'smartphone', designed for anything else.

I chose the iPhone, for two reasons:

I don't like the 'business-minded' Blackberry and
I got used to some functions of iPod Touch (the simple web navigation, the Podcast features, some games...).

I'm missing my Nokia already.

It worked marvel as a phone.
Its GPS was perfect and talked to me.
I could not only read email but also manage it (e.g. marking read mail as unread for further processing) on both professional and private accounts.
I could set my own ringing tones (the ones I had for years and on several phones along the years) for both calls and SMS.
I could customise it much more than the iPhone.
I had a one-click command to switch from professional to personal mode, automatically bringing upfront the relevant mailbox, calendar and preferences ...
It connected automatically with any bluetooth device I would want (good with handsfree) and in particular
it connected very efficiently with computer, allowing me to
easily choose what to synchronize and what not
easily move files, music, pictures, videos to and from the telephone
easily operate the telephone directly from the computer (useful for calls, a marvel for SMS!)
Very efficient modem, so that in case of need I wouldn't need to do anything complicated to be back online with my computer: no wi-fi? I'd connect via the data of the telephone from anywhere (and via bluetooth, so no cables) and I was back online with the full power of a computer, not a telephone :)

First impressions with Apple's toy are not positive at all:
a part from the cool design, as a telephone this is really poor:

The reception is poor and gets lost according on how I hold it.
the quality of sound is extremely deceptive compared to Nokia
the dam' Apple white headphones are very bad (I stopped using them years ago on iPods), don't sound good and can't fit in ears and stay there without you keeping your fingers on them to continuously reposition them (call it hands-free!)
The Bluetooth is nearly completely blocked. You can't connect with the computer, you can't move your files from and to it, you can't operate/write from there, you can't use the telephone as a modem...
Even the bluetooth hands free thing doesn't work properly: Should I connect it each time? Can't I pair it just once???
I need the nightmarish iTunes to do anything (that fucking piece of crap drowned three of my computers already!)
I can't customise my telephone. In order to personalise my ringing tone I had to look for extra software, since the only option given by Apple is buying more tones from them and only among the stuff they have. Anyway this only worked for the calls tone, not SMS. Those apparently can't be customised outside of the few silly tones it has by default.
For changing the desktop picture I had to pass through iTunes again.
the music function works worse than with an iPod. For example in podcasts I can't find out how to navigate back and forth through the audio. :(
It's heavy. More than my big Nokia.
It has no hole for tying a lace to it, both for holding it and for recognising it. I'll have to surrender and buy one of those ridiculous coloured plastic cases that will hide and make useless the cool design and make it even bigger and heavier.

Only cool thing. The design. But than again, it is so standardised that you will find tens of them at every soiree and you will risk somebody else to leave with yours and you with theirs.

and... you will need a plastic condom for it, or else it doesn't work properly. :(

I already miss my Nokia E 72.

Gli ex Fascisti si lamentano di chi gli rimprovera di averci imposto 16 anni di Berlusconi e Bossi. Questa è la mia risposta ad uno di loro:

Stantio sembra l'aggettivo di questi ultimi anni.
Qualunque critica all'establishment viene immancabilmente rimandata al mittente come 'stantia'.

Non che non sia d'accordo, dato che sono anni che da più parti si chiedeva alla destra -quella che si rivendica onesta, liberale, seria- di giustificare -o magari finalmente rivedere- la propria sudditanza a Berlusconi e Bossi.

Anni -16, appunto- che si chiede a Fini e ad altri di imporre agli alleati 'anti-politici- una visione nuovamente più politica, responsabile ed onesta.

L'unico che abbia avuto il coraggio di sbattere la porta davvero è stato quel volpone di Casini, prima che lo sbattessero fuori quelli che non avevano più bisogno di lui.

Quindi sono d'accordo che l'argomento dei 16 anni sia stantio: perché è da 16 anni che l'avete lasciato putrefare!

Julian Assange (Wikileaks) is in jail for a pretext and still many, in the press, blogs, etc. go on selling the bullshit that he is accused of serious sexual misconduct.
They should check their facts.
What they call "serious sexual allegations" is having had sex with two consenting adults who reportedly in one case was boasting about it later on twitter while the second one volunteered in an organization in order to meet him.
They denounced him (for having had consensual sex without a condom!!! Only in Sweden this can be a criminal offence!) after discovering of each other having had casual sex with him (a couple of times each. No relationship involved).
The charges had been dropped and brought back to life by whom needed a pretext to persecute him.
And for this bullshit they published an international arrest warrant to 188 countries? Not even for Bin Laden!

Let's be honest. They would have accused him of being blond, if they could find a trick to claim being blonde is illegal!
Because they could have never justified having him arrested for the reasons they wanted him down for.
Only North Korea, China or Iran could have done it. Hell of a democracy we are defending here! :(

Just before the announced leaks on Banks, swiss banking services 'Post Finanz' closed the bank account used to receive donations by wikileaks, because they all of a sudden realised (oh, boy!) that he is not a resident in Switzerland. And everybody knows how serious and ethical the Swiss Banks are about hiding one's own residence!!!

I am frankly ashamed of the times I'm living in!
20 years after the fall of USSR, weren't we meant to be having the rules of freedom and democracy imposed around the world?
If this is the democracy we are willing to export, and we don't even tolerate someone saying it out loud, no wonder it is so badly received by the people who should welcome it!
No wonder so many people end up sympathising with bin Laden rather than with us.

Il mio sincero e sentito VAFFANCULO al movimento pro-vita, per cui la vita non è un diritto da difendere, ma una condanna da imporre ad altri in nome delle proprie macabre superstizioni fondate sulla venerazione della sofferenza.

Il contraddittorio si chiede sulle questioni pubbliche, non su tragiche questioni intimamente private.

I think the apology of Jeff Skoll I just read in this article is a bit too much.
Not astonished that Fortune Magazine is surprised by a rich guy not playing the prick,renting high maintenance hookers and flashing around in unjustifyably pricey clothes ...
Nevertheless the guy is inspirational. He fell on the right thing in the right moment (1st full time employee of eBay, partly paid in eBay shares... but he was wise (and not greedy) enough not to sell them too early.
That's all he needed to become a millionaire, but he did it right. Good for him.

What's inspirational is what he did and he's doing with it.
Not going to Vegas like a teenage idiot.
Not speculating in Wall Street (that I know of), but investing in responsible film making. The kind of film that make one think that Hollywood is also what it is said to be, not only shitloads of spoiled idiots and whores making propaganda for the American way of life.
He works with George Clooney and financed Good Night and Good Luck, Syriana, An Inconvenient Truth, ... films that were worth shooting.
That's the kind of inspiration I'm eager for.

Il padre e lo straniero, di Giancarlo De Cataldo.

Ce ne vuole di stile per riuscire a scrivere un giallo senza storia, senza soluzione ne' spiegazioni, pretesto per la drammatica storia privatissima e personale di un noioso signor nessuno!

De Cataldo di stile ne ha da vendere e ci serve una storia intensa per quanto priva di esche, di elementi appetibili ad una lettura distratta, nella quale tornano temi a lui cari: l'essere padre e lo straniero.

Due temi abitualmente snobbati da scrittori d'evasione, ma che De Cataldo qui rende trascinanti, facendo appassionare il lettore a pesrsonaggi quotidiani ed inutili, alle loro squallide miserie ed alle loro illusorie tentazioni d'avventura.

Non volevo scrivere un'elegia ma forse con me ha sfondato una porta aperta.
Raccontando la vita interiore di un padre qualunque ha fatto, come si dice, un gol a porta vuota.

"C'è una crepa in ogni cosa".
È un proverbio che si è imposto nella società di un fumetto futuribile (Nathan Never) dopo la devastante guerra fratricida tra il pianeta Terra e le stazioni orbitanti.
Viene dal fatto che ogni edificio reca i segni, più o meno profondi, del conflitto e della distruzione.
Ogni cosa ed ogni persona.

Sono a Vukovar, un tempo florido centro industriale della Jugoslavia unita. Oggi depressa cittadina croata di confine sulla riva del bel Danubio blu. La riva opposta è Serbia, il nemico che ha devastato la città per fiaccarne la resistenza indipendentista e l'ha abbandonata solo verso la fine del secolo scorso.

Passeggiando per queste strade mi è tornato in mente quel proverbio inventato da autori in un momento di genialità.

Qui sembra esserci un buco di proiettile o di mitraglia o di mortaio in ogni cosa.

Tra le case ricostruite, rimesse a nuovo, abitate... ve ne sono di distrutte, abbandonate in macerie, e moltissime nuove costruite in fretta, per necessità, spesso accanto alle macerie; mattoni a nudo, che non c'erano né il tempo né i soldi da perdere in intonaco. L'urgenza era abitarle dentro.
E dentro sono nuove, intonacate, arredate, abitate.
Fuori si finiranno quando ci saranno i soldi e il tempo.

Ma quelle che mi hanno colpito maggiormente sono le moltissime case le cui facciate decorate e ricche di stucchi sono oggi devastate dai proiettili di allora, ma dentro sono state ricostruite e sono tornate ad essere abitazioni, negozi, uffici...
...dietro una facciata piena di buchi di mitraglia.

Viene da chiedersi quanto per la comodità di spendere innanzitutto negli interni e quanto per l'intenzione di non dimenticare.

Sembra esserci una ferita in ogni cosa, e in ogni persona.
La collega con cui sono venuto è di Zagabria.
Le si rompe la voce a parlare di Vukovar. Di come la città è stata abbandonata per ragioni strategiche dai Croati di Franjo Tudjman (cui oggi è dedicata la strada principale, con relativa targa nuova sulle macerie vecchie); di come i Serbi hanno occupato la città sino al '97; di come questo centro un tempo florido oggi sia un posto desolato, con un'economia di sussistenza...

E la gente in strada sembra aver dimenticato... non pare avercela con i Serbi dell'altra riva, in fondo come loro trascinati in guerra da dirigenti senza scrupoli e che alla fine son rimasti con il cerino in mano.
Ma quando mi vedevano fotografare le ferite della loro città, potevi leggere negli occhi dei più anziani la voglia di raccontare... I ricordi riaffiorare.

Dev'essere stato un piccolo paradiso, in passato, ricco centro industriale di una florida ed orgogliosa nazione multiculturale, strategicamente importante e relativamente aperta, nonostante il regime.

Oggi la città rinasce e cresce. Gli edifici vengono restaurati o ricostruiti, le floride villette antiche rimpiazzate da ville più moderne, ma comunque ti senti nel buco del culo del mondo.
In una cittadina della provincia estrema di un Paese piccolo e poco importante il cui simbolo è oggi l'alta torre serbatoio idrico, con i buchi dei mortai Serbi lasciati a ricordare quello che è successo appena ieri.

E però dopo tutto la vita continua.
La notte i giovani escono e lungo il fiume fioriscono locali moderni e vivaci pieni di musica, drink, giovani e belle ragazze.
Una collega di Zagabria stamattina ci ha raccontato di aver fatto le quattro del mattino. :)
E vengono prese iniziative, come il festival cinematografico regionale per il quale sono qui, e nel quale "la Grande Salle" è una rugginosa chiatta da trasporto ancorata sul Danubio. La vista sull'altra riva, quella Serba. Il respiro affannoso per il caldo soffocante e l'umidità che è tale da formare banchi di nebbia a pochi metri d'altezza sul fiume che tanto sangue ha visto scorrere.
